2024 Calendar by Wednesday Paper & Malie Moana

When Haunani of Wednesday Paper, a small business that puts an eccentric spin on stationary (also my bestie), broached the idea of a calendar to me, I thought itʻd be simple. Iʻd design the art, color palette and supplemental elements, and sheʻd handle the formatting, moon phases, and financials. We had no expectations, it was simply a fun project to combine our respective strengths. When we opened up pre-orders for our first run of calendars in November of 2022 we were surprised to see how many people and stores wanted our calendars. We both have our own relationship and experience being Hawaiian and found a way to implement what we know and have learned and turn it into a useful tool for so many others out there.

We broke this collaboration down into three parts: a full size calendar marking the moon phases and holidays in Hawaiian with each month having a design by me attributed to it, a desktop calendar-smaller in size and perfect for your work station, and lastly an undated planner. The formatting and the overall look of each of these items was done by Haunani with her impeccable attention to detail.
